This is a 6-day, 5-night Kerala package tour that begins with your arrival in Cochin and ends in Trivandrum, where you fly home on the final day. Along the way, you cover the tea estates above Munnar, a wildlife boat ride on Periyar Lake in Thekkady, a relaxed houseboat cruise through the Alleppey backwaters, and a beach stop in Kovalam before finally exploring Trivandrum's heritage sights.
The route moves uphill first and ends by the coast. That means you spend the early days in cool mountain air, then switch to lakes and waterways, and finish your trip unwinding on sandy beaches. It is a complete Kerala circuit for Malaysian travellers who want a single well-organised itinerary without the stress of planning transfers on their own.

Experience Overview
The first two days of the trip are spent in the highlands. After landing in Cochin, you drive straight up to Munnar and stay among the tea plantations, visiting the higher viewpoints and waterfalls while the mountain chill settles in. From there, the journey heads down to theky at Thekdy, where a calm boat ride across Periyar Lake gives you a chance to observe wildlife in a relaxed way rather than on foot.
Aleppey then slows the pace even further. You board a water stay, a houseboat, and let the backwaters carry you along palm-lined canals. The largely service on board means you cruise, eat, and sleep over water in one stretch. The final nights switch to Kovalam, a seaside pause with open sandy beach, then into Trivandrum, which holds two of the state's strongest cultural stops: the Napier Museum and the Sri Pardmanabha Swamy Temple. It is an itinerary that moves from mountain to water to sea, with culture placed at the closing.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Cochin to Munnar, into the tea hills
Arrive in Cochin and transfer directly into hill country, making your way up to Munnar. The driving route climbs gradually, and by late afternoon you will likely be surrounded by the green tea estates the area is known for. After checking in, the day closes with a relaxing dinner where you can settle in and adjust to the cooler air.
Day 2: Pinnacle viewpoints in Munnar
Full day in Munnar. The planned stops include Top Station for its high views, Mattupetty Dam and its surroundings, Echo Point, and Lakkam Waterfalls. A look out from Rajamala crags often brings mountain goats into view, though the wildlife depends on the season and weather. Note that this is a scenic day with several running points, so comfortable shoes and a light jacket are useful there.
Day 3: Thekkady and a Periyar Lake boat ride
Morning transfer from Munnar to Thekkady. The main activity here is a calm boat ride across Periyar Lake inside the sanctuary. Watch the water's edge for the wild elephants and deer that come down to drink, and listen to guide for notes on the jungle around you. Wildlife sightings vary, but the cruise itself is steady and restful.
Day 4: Housebound aboard the Alleppey backwaters
Travel from Thekkady to Alleppey, where you board your water stay. The houseboat sails at a gentle pace along the alleyping canals, past village houses resting on the waterline and coconut trees leaning over the shoreline. Fresh, local-style meals are served aboard, and the night is spent on the waters, anchored in a quiet stretch of the backwaters.
Day 5: Sun along Kovalam Beach
Leave Aleppey behind and head to the coast at Kovalam. The plan here is unstructured, allowing you to relax on the golden sand, wade into the gentle waves, and stay toward the end of the day watching a tropical sunset from Ak beach. Kovalam is the kind of stop where sunscreen, a hat and a good book become your most important items.
Day 6: Trivandrum heritage and departure
A last morning in Kovally, with the morning in Trivandrum dedicated to culture. The Napier Museum holds historical collections in a distinctly styled building, and the Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple is known for its grand Dravidian architecture and careful towers. From there, you continue to the airport for your return flight home.

Important Booking Notes
Because this is a multi-stop route through hills, forests, lakes, and coast, weather and wildlife conditions change by travel time. Go relieved on the Periyar Lake says no particular sighting, and the beauty of the backwater cruise can vary with water levels. Also note that this tour includes types of private transport between cities on the route, but flights are not part of the package; you will need to arrange or book those separately through inquiry.
