Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and Cultural Welcome

You land at Kathmandu Airport and meet your driver for a transfer into the city. On the way in, the tour stops at Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu complex that sits beside the Bagmati River, followed by Bouddhanath Stupa, the great center of Tibetan Buddhism with its white dome and paint of prayer flags. Then it is the short drive to the hotel for the night in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu, Pashupatinath Temple, Bagmati River

The morning of the second day in Kathmandu is where you will learn about the tradition of the place. Retaining its ancient traditions, Kathmandu is blessed by a Living Goddess and is enriched by endless ceremonial processions and events that take to the streets every now and then with throngs of devotees seeking blessings. Located 5km east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva is considered one of the most sacre Hindu shrines in the world. Near the Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of Bagmati River lies Gushewari.

Day 3: Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Devi's Fall

Explore the fascinating Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, located directly across from Devi’s Fall. Stretching nearly 3 kilometres, this remarkable limestone cave features enormous chambers resembling hall-sized rooms, along with narrow, winding passages that offer an adventurous experience. As you venture deeper into the cave, you may encounter sections where you need to crawl on all fours to navigate through the tight spaces. Discover the cave’s unique rock formations and spiritual significance while enjoying an exciting underground adventure in one of Nepal’s most intriguing natural attractions.

Day 4: Drive Back to Nagarkot

Nagarkot, located 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu, is one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear. Visitors often travel to Nagarkot from Kathmandu to spend the night so that they can be there for the breathtaking sunrise.

Day 5: Mountain View, City Tour

From Nagarkot, one can see many mountains in the distance. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square is by far the most elegant with its large large open space facing south. The extraordinary Durbar Square with its magnificent monuments reflect the glory days of the Malla dynasty when art and architecture thrived in the three cities of the valley. Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, one of Nepal’s most iconic Buddhist landmarks located on a hilltop overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. Admire its magnificent white dome, golden spire, and the famous Buddha eyes painted on all four sides, while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding city. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its historic palaces, ancient temples, and traditional Newari architecture. Explore the former royal palace complex, admire the intricate wood carvings, and experience Nepal’s rich cultural heritage in the heart of Kathmandu.
